The TS pin with a thermistor and a properly programed bias with two resistors controls the temperature profile in charging for the BQ24100, BQ24170, and BQ24610.
To design the thermistor network, the first step is to find the resistance of the thermistor at the hot temperature RTH_HOT and cold temperature RTH_COLD. Then plug in the values and the percentages of VLTF/VREF and VTCO/VREF from the Electrical Characteristics table into the equations in the datasheet. The equations calculates the values for the upper and lower resistors, with the upper resistor connected to pull-up rail designated in the datasheet and the lower resistor connected to GND.
The same operation principle applies to the following chargers: BQ24103, BQ24103A, BQ24104, BQ24105, BQ24105-Q1, BQ24108, BQ24109, BQ24113, BQ24113A, BQ24115, BQ24120, BQ24123, BQ24125, BQ24130, BQ24133, BQ24172, BQ24600, BQ24617, BQ24618, BQ24640, and BQ24650.
