TPS53211: the different between TPS53211 and TPS53211A

Part Number: TPS53211

Hi Team,

May I know the different between TPS53211 and TPS53211A ? Can they replace each others directly without any risk ?

Thanks !

Kai

  • Hello Kai,

The TPS53211 and TPS53211A use the same package and pinout and may be used in place of one another. The main difference is that the TPS53211A always operates in forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) meaning that the part is always switching at approximately the same frequency regardless of load current. The TPS53211 on the other hand has a light-load efficiency feature where the part operates in discontinuous conduction mode at lighter load currents. While this may provide an added benefit in terms of efficiency for the TPS53211, load regulation and ripple performance will be better with the TPS53211A.
