    Thanks for reaching out.
    VOL617A is an optocoupler that can be used for isolating analog or digital signal with external passive components. If the requirement is to isolate a digital signal then a digital isolator can be used to replace VOL617A.

    I see that VOL617A is available in a larger package with 8mm creepagae/clearance. If 8mm creepage/clearance is a requirement then I recommend to use ISO6720-Q1 in 8-pin wide body SOIC (DWV) package that offers 8mm clearance/clearance and also meets all other isolation requirements. If 4mm creepage/clearance is sufficient then customer can use ISO6720 in 8-pin narrow body SOIC (D) package which would be relatively lower cost than the larger DWV option.

    Please note that ISO6720 is a dual channel digital isolator which can replace two of VOL617A devices. If customer is only using just one VOL617A, then they could look at ISO7710 which is available in both wide body and narrow body packages. Thanks.
