TPS709-Q1: TLV76733 replacing TPS709-Q1

Part Number: TPS709-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV733P-Q1

Hi,

The customer is considering TLV76733DRVR instead of TPS70933QDRVRQ1. PIN 2 and PIN 5 are different, as TPS70933 has NC for both PIN 2 and 5 but TLV76733 has SNS and GND for PIN 2 and 5.

My questions are as follows;

1. Could the customer use SNS and GND (PIN2 and 5) as NC?

2. Could you please check the SNS PIN in the schematic below?

Thank you.

  • Hi Chris,

    1) The SNS pin cannot be floated, on the datasheet, in the pinout section, we even specify that floating this pin specifically causes problems as it is connected to the feedback network that drives Vout. Additionally, you should not float any ground pins, this is also specified in the same section on the datasheet.

    2) The SNS pin in the schematic you have is configured properly by being tied to out

    I might add that the customer may want to look into the TLV733P-Q1 as it is directly p2p for their part where these considerations are not required

    Regards,

    John
