UCC21540-Q1: UCC21540QDWKQ1 vs UCC21540DWR

Part Number: UCC21540-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21540

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we could DIN TI product!

May I ask UCC21540DWR & UCC21540QDWKQ1? THX

Will there be any difference between the two ICs in measuring OUTA to VSSA, OUTB to VSSB?

In addition, if I measure the OUTB to VSSB waveform High level, it exceeds the VDDB+0.5 specification (measured to exceed 0.8V)

Is there a maintenance time for this? For example, if it exceeds VDDB+0.5 and maintains 10n S, is it beyond the specification?
Or there is no maintenance time, as long as it exceeds, it will count as OVER SPEC?

  • Hello Kygo,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E.

There should not be any difference between the two versions of UCC21540 with regards to OUT to VSS voltage measurements.

With regard to the OUT to VSS maximum voltage, we do not guarantee a voltage over our absolute max (VDD+0.5V) for any amount of time. While it is possible that a unit will survive a short overvoltage, this same overvoltage may damage a different unit. If the application is regularly seeing overvoltage on the OUT pin, we recommend using external diodes to clamp the voltage to VDD.
