Hi Team,

My customer is looking for alternate source to LM2594HVN-ADJ/NOPB due to supply situation, can you please advise on the following comparing this device to LM2597HVN-ADJ/NOPB? Thanks!

Comparing the two devices electrically, here are the differences I see:

  • Can the Error_Flag, Delay and Bias_Supply pins on LM2597 be left floating?
  • Is the enable pin logic the same, or does it need to be flipped (/SHUTDOWN vs. /ON)? 
  • Datasheet shows the SOIC vs. PDIP junction to ambient thermal resistance values as being flipped in the respective datasheets, can you advise? 
  • Any other electrical, pinout, or package differences we should be aware of?

    Hello

    The error flag, delay and bias pins should be left floating

    The enable inputs are somewhat different on the two devices.  

    The '97 has a combined soft-start and shutdown function.  Please see figure 23 on the '97 data sheet for details of using this pin

    The correct thermal resistance is as follows: SOIC=150, PDIP=95
