TLV62568A: Pls check the behavior for output short test

Hi Expert,

Pls confirm the below behavior for output short whether correct or not.

Conditions:

Input=3.3V

Output=2.5V

The question is why the current not down to zero when output is short.

Hi Eric,

Can you share how are you shorting the Vout to Gnd? If you are using a long cable that will have a large resistance and can have some voltage drop still there.

Is it possible to share the PCB layout? If the IC and output capacitors are not close to each other that can also result in Vout>0.

Hi Eric,

I just checked that TLV62568A has peak current mode control topology. So your curve looks okay to me as device will try to sustain the current under the ILIM (peak current limit) mentioned in the datasheet. So it will not decay to zero but it will remain under the ILIM.
