LM5039: LM5039 vs LM5035 SCH

Part Number: LM5039
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5035,

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we could DIN TI product!

I check the internal blocks of LM5039 and LM5035
I found that the two RES pin suggested lines are not the same!
LM5039 is the recommended resistance (R18)!! LM5035 is the discharge capacitor (C32)!! The following differences
Do you know why?! Thank you

  • Hello,

It is a good question. Both are correct. RES pin is configurable as different operation modes. When a cap is connected to RES, delay hiccup mode is used; when a resistor from 0 ohm to 50k is used, there is no hiccup mode. It always does cycle by cycle current limit. Refer to Page 13 of LM5039 Datasheet.

    Regards,
    Sean

  • Hi Sean,

    More question need your help

    Regrding LM5039 datasheet (p13 below)

Usage of Externally Controlled Hiccup (over-temperature protection circuit or an output over-voltage sensor.)

Do we have a reference SCH for this usage?! Thank you

  • Hi, Kygo,

This feature can be implemented with an external control signal. LM5039 just need follow the control signal. We don't have the schematic, but I don't think it is hard to implement this feature.
