TLV741P: What happen is EN pin is left floating on TLV741P?

Hi,

Based on the datasheet, when EN < 0.4V, device enter into shutdown. When EN>0.9V, the device is enable, how about when user accidently float the EN pin and voltage lies between 0.5V ~ 0.89V?

What state is the device in and what is expected at the output? Is there any internal pull up or down?

Hi Christina,

I've reached out to the designer to check if there is an internal pull up/down. If there is not an internal pull up/down, when the EN pin is floating it could fluctuate enough to turn on and off the device at random. Either that, or the EN circuit is in an indeterminate state where it could stay on or off.

I'll update this when I hear back from the designer.

Hi Christina,

I've verified with design that EN does not have a pull up/down circuit so there will need to be external circuitry to guarantee its state.
