BQ24076: Regarding to Protective function

If I use battery can discharging 10A(more than 5A), May BQ24076CE cause damage?
or May BQ24076CE work protective function (like OCP)?

I confirmed BQ24076CE's absolute maximum output current is 5A in datasheet.

    Hi,

    The maximum rated current going from BAT to SYS when the device is in discharge is only 5A as you've mentioned. We do not recommend going beyond the maximum ratings as stresses above this may cause permanent damage to the device or affect device reliability.

    Thank you for your response.
    I understood your answer means BQ24076 hasn't protective function against current going from BAT to SYS.
    Is my understanding correct?

    Hi,

    There is an short circuit protection feature for the device. If the device is being powered by only battery or is in supplement mode and the SYS/OUT voltage drops below the BAT voltage by Vo(sc2) tfor supplement or 250mV for bat only mode hen the output is turned off. You can find this information in Input Source Not Connected and Battery Supplement Mode sections.
