[FAQ] TPS54320: SWIFT™︎ mentioned in tps54320 introduction ™︎ Principle and characteristics of

Part Number: TPS54320
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54302, TPS563201

Hi,

The customer asked me about SWIFTTm in tps54320 ,what does it mean? Is the internal structure and function of such devices different from other devices (such as tps54302 or tps563201)?

Are there any documents that can quickly understand the characteristics of such devices?

BRs,

Sanders

  • Hi Sanders,

SWIFT stands for Switcher with Integrated FET.  It is just a different name for a converter given at the time integrated FETs were the new technology vs discrete FET controllers. Other than the name, the internal control schemes are the usual voltage mode, current mode or constant on-time mode. You can check the datasheets of any individual devices to clarify the functional block diagram and operation.

    Thanks,
    Amod
