Dear support,

1. I bought the Boost-psemthr-007 and tps23881evm-008. According to the TPS23881EVM user guide, I can set Autonomous feature by Auto Pin. It is a good feature and we would like to use it our Un-manage POE design. But the update data sheet of TPS23881 has removed the 52 pin (Auto) to (NC). My question is can I able to use this feature any more?

2. I also bought the launch Pad MSP-EXP430FR5969 to test. where can I download the source code so the TPS23881 can operate auto mode?

    Hi Loi,

    1. Unfortunately, the TPS23881 needs the SRAM patches in order to be compliant to the standard. That can only be done by the MCU loading the SRAM patches like described in the app note section of the TPS23881 product page. So TPS23881 auto pin cannot be used if trying to meet compliance. However, if you only care about interoperability, you can use this feature with our PoE PDs and it will still do detection, classification, and power up. But if testing through SIFOS or EA logo certification, it will not pass.

    2. That is correct. You can download the SRAM patches on the mysecure page for TPS23881 and load the patches through the MSP430. Then you can set the PSE to auto mode and it will be compliant. For the source code, we have reference code in the TPS23881 product page under software development that will help start your system software. It has an auto file. Thanks!

    2. I download the reference code for TPS23881. Then I imported to the launch pad MSP-exp430FR5969 but it only see the semi-auto. there is no Auto CCS.
