TPS3899: V_HYS on datasheet

Part Number: TPS3899

Hi,

TPS3899 datasheet shows VIT- = 2.93V and VIT- + VHVS = 3.08V in chapter 9.2.2.

It explains the typical VHVS is 25.5mV. Then VIT- + VHVS should be 2.93 + 0.0255 = 2.956 and the 3.08V should be incorrect. The characteristics for VHVS is 5%(typ). I guess 2.93 + (2.93*0.05) = 3.077V ≒ 3.08V.

Is the information of the 25.5mV incorrect?

Regards,
Nagata.

  • Hi Nagata-san,

There should have been more clarification in the paragraph.  The 25.5mV hysteresis is from the 0.505V threshold voltage for the adjustable version.  With the resistor divider, 0.505V translate to 2.93V at the monitored voltage rail.  Therefore, the positive threshold voltage is 0.505V * (1+0.05) = 530.5mV at the SENSE pin or 3.08V at the monitored rail voltage.  I hope this answers your question.
