Q1: Why Rs2 is not present in below formula? I think Ivsl(run) go both RS1 and Rs2, isn't it ?

Q2, I am doing the design from DC input and the VIN(min) is as low as to 50V,output is 12V/1A @CV mode; but from the simulation result, the VOUT and VS is rise up to about 1V and then down to zero, I am checking if VIN fault is detected, I see there is a 4us detect as below showing from datasheet. I don't understand this principle, "If the CS is input is short or held low" means the MOSFET is on ? can you explain this 4us detect how it works?

  • Hello,

Because when the switch is on and the aux winding is negative the VS pin is clamped to roughly ground.  So the equation does not require RS2.

RS2 is required for programing the output voltage.

The following link will bring you to an application note that describes primary side fault sensing.  It describes how the input UVLO of the UCC28730 works and you may find this information useful.
