TPS62933: Performance limitations of pre-production part XTPS62933DRLR

I plan to use TI pre-production part XTPS62933DRLR in my design and have placed an order on TI.com. I would like to know if there are any performance limitations of this pre-production part compared to the final production version? I read the final production version will be released in December.

XTPS62933DRLR is almost same with final version, I would say it is good to for production with XTPS62933DRLR.

May I know your application? Vin=? Vout=? max Iout=?

My application: Vin = 12V, Vout = 3.3V or 1.8V, Iout = 3A max. The primary load is SFP & QSFP modules at 3.3V.

By the way, where is the Vin(+12V) comes from? Is it from DCDC?

Chris, the +12V power will be sourced from an off-line 120V power supply.

Fine, it is okay for your design. Place the input capacitor as close as possible to the chip in the layout. Also, as many ground vias as possible can be added on the ground to improve heat dissipation.
