TPS65023B: DVS function and reference SW code

Part Number: TPS65023B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65023, TPS650231

Dear team,

My customer would like to change PMIC from NXP to TI for NXP AP MCIMX6X4CVM08AB.

So there are some questions.

1. DVS function

Which one has DVS function? DCDC1 or DCDC3?  I am confusing due to below datasheet comment.

-  Datasheet 21page, "DCDC3 has dynamic voltage scaling feature (DVS)"

- Datasheet 22 page Block, DVS function is connected DCDC1

- Datasheet 35 page,

2. LDO

- Datasheet 36 page, LDO3? is this typo?

3. Is there any reference S/W code to control PMIC available to use NXP AP?

Please review above 3 questions and let me know your opinion.

Thank you.

  • Hi Dino,

TPS65023 supports DVS on DCDC1. It looks like there may be typo(s) in this datasheet that were apparently fixed but some may be have been missed. Table 16 looks to also have been a typo. These typos were updated and corrected in the TPS650231 datasheet, which you can reference for the time being until this datasheet is corrected. The only difference between TPS650231 and TPS65023 should be the default output voltage of the two 200mA-LDOs.

    Best,
    Emily

  • Hi Emily,

Thank you for your comment regarding Q1,2.

Please let me know your opinion regarding Q3.

    3. Is there any reference S/W code to control PMIC available to use NXP AP?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Dino,

Unfortunately, we do not have any drivers available for this PMIC. Because it has been in production for ~11 years, it is unlikely to undergo further SW support.

    Best,
    Emily
