TPS628501-Q1: difference between TPS628501-q1 and TPS62811-Q1

Part Number: TPS628501-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62811-Q1

Hi Expert,

I am selecting 5V to 3.3V buck, and get confused by  TPS628501-q1 and TPS62811-Q1. Could you please tell me the difference between them? Also, how much does the output voltage vary when output current changes from 1A to 0.2A? Seems not depicted in the datasheet.

Thanks

Elec Cheng

  • Hi Elec,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Differences between TPS628501-Q1 and PS62811-Q1

    - Package:  TPS628501-Q1 SOT-5x3(DRL) 8  and TPS62811-Q1 (RWY) | 9
    - Features:  TPS628501-Q1 has an input overload protection and has a lower output capacitor
TPS62811-Q1 has a soft start feature which the TPS62811-Q1 does not have.

Besides those differences the devices are basically the same.

About the output voltage dependency on the current we have these to diagrams:

    -TPS628501-Q1 section 10.2.3 Application Curves Figure 10-10 and 10-11
    -TPS62811-Q1 section 10.2.3 Application Curves Figure 10-12 and 10-13

If those diagrams are not enough you can also use Webench to simulate the output voltage: Power Designer (ti.com)

    Kind Regards,
    Alex
