LM34966-Q1: Boosting to 60V

Part Number: LM34966-Q1

Dear Sir/Madam

Our customer wants to design a power supply using LM34966-Q1 with the following specifications.

Input voltage from a Li battery= 14.4V
Output voltage = 60V

However this seems to be impossible to simulate with the  Webench, as the maximum output voltage allowed by the tool is 40V.

Nevertheless when looking at the datasheet this output value appears to be possible. Is this the case?  If yes, is there any way to simulate it with Webench or any other calculation tool?

Thanks in advance and kind regards

Maria

  • Hello Maria,

Thanks for reaching out. Will your customer use this device in boost configuration? The Webench model for this device is configured for SEPIC operation.  You can use the PSPICE model to simulate this design, you can find it in the product folder of the LM34966 under "Design tools and simulations" https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/snvmc41

    Kind regards,

    EM
