TLV62084A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV62080, TPS62913

Hello TI support,

I am using TLV62080 converter to get 0.5V voltage from 3.0V input. I used webench to choose discrete elements needed. My question is if I want to use the 0.5V output voltage for multiple loads can I simply split it to all four loads? Should I tie inductors and capacitors for every load?

With the best regards

Olonbayar

  • Hi Olonbayar,

Thank you for coming to us with your queries.

If the total load current of all 4 loads is equal to or less 2A and with the same output voltage of 0.5V, you only need one TLV62080 buck converter to supply it (see figure below for reference). Besides, the device can only work with one inductor (single-phase buck converter), although it can support multiple output capacitors placed in parallel as long as it does not exceed 100uF.

Let me know if you need further support.

  • Hi Olonbayar,

    Just a soft reminder.

Do you still have further queries?

  • Hi Excel,

It is clear. Thanks for your support.

  • Hi Excel,

I have one more question. I am getting the input voltage 3.0V to this converter through another (TPS62913). With that we can use inductor for each load. It is recomended to do so when connecting multiple loads. Can I then apply input voltage 3.0V to the converter TLV62080 through inductor. It might work because it is an input. But I wanted to clarify it.

    With the best

  • Hi Olonbayar,

Sorry, the circuit implementation is not clear to me. TLV62080 needs one inductor connected to SW pin to operate properly. It is not possible to attached several inductors on the SW pin to generate independent Vout rails.

Anyway, can you kindly provide a block diagram of your proposed circuit for better understanding?

    Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Exce

  • Hi Excel,

Yes, I have only inductor connected to the SW pain. I am talking about the input voltage Vin. To this Vin pin I would like to apply my Vin through a LC network. I am doing it because the voltage comes from another converter which feeds several loads. This TLV62080 is one of these loads. It is belongs to the previous part of the schematic. You can have look at figure attached.

    Thanks Olonbayar

  • Hi Olonbayar,

    Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, your circuit is perfectly fine.
