TLC59284: Multiplex Led Driving with a Higher Output Current than the rated maximum

Part Number: TLC59284
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC5926

Dear Sir/Madam,

TLC59284 has a max 35 mA output current  for each channel. We have an application in which we activate only one of the output at a time around 1 ms duration and scan each output one by one but we need a higher output current around 150 mA and setting RRef around 300 ohm. The device have worked safely for a long time without a problem. So i would like to ask if it is safe to work ?

Regards,

  • Hi Rammstein,

Such condition is not tested during mass manufacture test and design simulation. Although the device works on your tests, we still cannot guarantee the safety/performance and say there is no risks

For similar device with high current capability, you could take a look of TLC5926/7.
