BQ76940: BQ769X0 sample abnormality

Part Number: BQ76940
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76930

Hi team,

BMS made with BQ769X0 occasionally has some two strings of voltage not being captured during the test or on the client, and then accurately collected after power-up.

For this issue, the detection of external devices is OK, and the voltage is abnormal when entering the BQ76930.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hello Cherry,

Can you describe what your customer is seeing? What is detecting abnormal voltages? Does the BQ76930 detect wrong voltages? If it is, what are the voltage errors that you are seeing? What are the voltage values and what is it supposed to be?

I am a bit confused with the set-up. A schematic would also be helpful.

  • Hi Luis,

The circuit diagram will have a string of high and a string of low conditions. It is normal to measure the voltage going into the sample chip. It should all be 3.3 V, sometimes a string lower, sometimes the VC5X adjacent string, and sometimes the 2nd or 3rd string.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Cherry

  • Hello Cherry,

Can they log the cell voltage data so we can see it? Can you upload the schematic in a PDF format so that it is more easily readable. Are the voltages randomly changing?

    Best Regards,
