BQ25713B: Not using Independent Comparator

Part Number: BQ25713B

In the data sheet it says if the independent comparator is not in use, tie CMPIN to ground. What happens if this pin is left floating? Is there any known behavior someone from the TI team has experienced? One of the designs I am currently working on has this pin floating and we are not using the comparator. We are thinking this may be the cause of some noise on VSYS

  • Hi Kevin,

Can you please tie CMPIN to ground?

VSYS noise could be due to other reasons. I would recommend adding a few low value caps to decouple high frequency noises after grounding CMPIN. The EVM is a good reference.

Thanks and I hope this helps,

    Peng
