BQ35100: new battery pack

Part Number: BQ35100

Hello,

We have designed a BQ35100 on our product and we were wondering if we could configure our own batterypack.

We use a batterypack with 2 LSH20 ( spiral ) batteries in series.

We were wondering if it is possible to configure or program our own battery chemistry into the BQ35100 ?

And if this is possible how should we do it and what do we need for it?

Or do you have an other chip which is more suitable for our application? ( it needs to be low power )

Hopefully you can help me.

Rob

  • Hello Rob,

You are not able to make a chem ID and upload it to the gauge, the chem ID contents are proprietary. You can submit batteries to us and we will characterize them and create a chem ID if it's not already available in the database.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Hi Wyatt,

Thanks for your reply, i was wondering, how many battery packs do you need ? and where do i need to send those to ?

I was also wondering how i would be able to update the chem id's if you can characterize the battery pack?

    Sincerely,

    Rob

  • Hello Rob,

I have sent you a friend request.

The chem ID database gets updated frequently with new IDs, after it's completed it will show up there. I would recommend using the updater first to see if your ID is in a new release.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
