BQ25798: Can BQ25798 replace BQ25792?

Hi Team,

When need support 3A charging current, 2S battery and USB PD3.0, can BQ25798 replace the BQ25792? From comparing BQ25792 and BQ25798, I think it can meet the requirements. Can you double check whether BQ25798 can replace BQ25792?

Hi Gust,

Yes. BQ25798 has additional features (solar charging and backup mode) than 792 but is essentially the same. The only big difference is that the 798's poor source detection does not latch off the IC like 792 and will repeatedly retry.
