TPS7A20: Fixed or adjustable output voltage?

Is the TPS7A20 a fixed or adjustable output voltage regulator? The datasheet doesn't specify and doesn't show any way to adjust the voltage (pages 18-49 of the datasheet were blank so maybe I didn't get a complete download). I put the TPS7A20 in my TI shopping cart and it never gave me an opportunity to select an output voltage, i.e., it appears that TI makes one version for all voltages. I need 4.0 VDC output in a SOT-23 package.

Hi Thomas,

The TPS7A20 family of LDOs are all fixed output voltage devices. The numbers following the TPS7A20 indicate the voltage

4.0V isn't a very common voltage and we currently only offer the 4.0V option in the 1mmx1mm X2SON package (TPS7A2040PDQNR). If your load has some flexibility in the voltage it can take but you can only use a leaded package then the next closest output voltage values we have are 4.2V (TPS7A2042PDBVR) and 3.6V (TPS7A2036PDBVR).

And what about LP5907 and LP2985-N? Are these available in 4V SOT-23? We currently use the LP2985AIM5-4.0 but these have been discontinued. We're having issues with humming with Koss microphones (but not Sennheiser) when our devices are plugged into AC adapters. We want to try a low-noise v-reg.

LP2985-N is the only one that has a 4.0V option in the SOT23 package. Below are the part numbers

3.8V is not in available for SOT23 TPS7A20, but LP5907-Q1 and LP2985-N have 3.8V in the SOT23

OK, I want to try these

I want two samples each. I can't find where to request samples on the "Order Now" tab for each device. When I try to put two pieces in the shopping cart the website crashes.

I see that the LP5907QMFX-3.8Q1‎ is available from Mouser and the TPS7A2042PDBVR is available from Digi-Key. We order from them regularly. Should i order from the distributors or from TI?

Hi Thomas,

If you can easily order from the distributors then I'd say do that. We'll get the website figured out, but in this supply environment I would lock down anything you need ASAP just to make sure you get what you need.
