UCD90160A: Programming comments to NVM directly

Part Number: UCD90160A

Dear team,

We want to do field side code upgrade of UCD90190A.

To implement this feature, we need UCD device can work normally with original code config during system power on and re-load new config once next power on cycle.

Is this possible to write comments directly to NVM to implement this feature?

If yes, could you share me how to do? Thanks

  • Hi, Ben

Yes, you can import data flash directly to NVM while device is operating. Once complete, you will need to reset device. You can see more detail in the Configuration Programming of UCD devices document.

Section 4.1, page 4, "Export using Fusion GUI" describes how to use Fusion Digital Power Design tool to export the configuration to a file. You will need to export either "Data Flash File" (.hex file) or "Data Flash Script"  (.csv file).

Section 9.1, page 37, "Exporting Configuration Data Flash Hex File", describes detail how to use Fusion Digital Power Design tool to export device configuration to a hex file. And then using the same software tool to import the configuration from the hex file to another device.

If you prefer to use 3rd party tool or microcontroller to program devices, Section 6.4, page 22, "Downloading Configuration Data Using a Microcontroller", describes how to program UCD device using microcontroller. Section describe detail of "Microcontroller Writes Data Flash, Normal Mode Scheme".
