TPS549D22: Read output voltage

Part Number: TPS549D22

Hello,

Does the TPS549D22 have a SMbus register which indicates the effective output voltage? Can it measure it’s output voltage (at the SENSE pins) and provide the value in a register? I know that the output value can be calculated even if using a res divider with Vout = Vref *(Rtop/Rbottom +1) but is there a register/functionality that can be used to read Vout directly? I don’t seem to find this functionality in the datasheet, however, I want to make sure.

Thank you,

Simeon Aleksandrov

  • Hi Simeon,

Our US team will reply you after Thanksgiving holiday.

  • Hi Simeon,

The TPS549D22 supports output voltage adjustment using the VOUT_COMMAND (21h), but the TPS549D22 does not support output voltage telemetry (i.e. continuous monitoring of the output voltage via PMBus).

The TPS549D22 also supports the STATUS_VOUT (7Ah), but this function will report overvoltage and undervoltage warnings/faults as opposed to reporting the output voltage level supported by a device with telemetry.

    Regards,
