TLV755P: The max value of “EN pin low voltage” is too small for customer's application.

Part Number: TLV755P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A11

Hi,

TLV755P is used in my customer's new projects. But it is found that the max value of “EN pin low voltage” is too small, so that there is a risk. Could you please help?

1, Are there alternatives with a larger upper limit and small size (less than 1.5mm2)? I noticed that TPS7A11 may be an option, but the value is only 0.4V.

2, Why are the max value of “EN pin low voltage”  of many LDOs so small?  Are there any benefits?

3, Besides, TPS7A11 has BIAS pins. What is the benefit or function? When there is no additional bias power supply, should BAIS be connected to IN?

Many thanks!

  • Hi Hailiang-san,

    1. What are the input and output voltage, and output current requirements?
    2. I don't know if there is a good answer to this question, but it is a small voltage close to zero to disable the part. 0V (or GND) is normally easy to provide so 0.3V (max) is normally not an issue.
    3. Using a BIAS rail allows the use of smaller input voltages, which can greatly improve efficiency. Output voltages below the bandgap voltage are also achievable when using the BIAS rail. If there is no additional BIAS power supply, BIAS should be connected to VIN, and the minimum input voltage will need to also follow the minimum BIAS specification.

    Regards,
