BQ25892: Could BQ25892 pin 24 be safely connected to VBUS?

Part Number: BQ25892
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24193

Question: Could BQ25892 pin 24 be safely connected to VBUS?

We are well aware that BQ25892 pin 24 is NC. But besides that (and pin 12 QON_) BQ25892 appears pin compatible with some of the BQ2419x family devices, such as BQ24193. Striving to have options with the stock situation of today, we ask to know if BQ25892 could then share a common footprint with BQ24193 by connecting pin 24 in the PCB to VBUS. Pin 12 would be handled with a zero ohm (mount or no mount depending on which BQ that is mounted, only controlling shipping mode via I2C).

Out of curiousity, is pin 24 set as NC to lower the risk of sparks forming between pad 23 and 24? We have seen that in tests with BQ24193.
