Hi team,

As we know, LM5060 use the Vds of SENSE & OUT pin for overcurrent protection. But the MOSFET rdson varies a lot with temperature.

Could you double check below design is OK or not? Generally speaking, use high accuracy sense resistor to replace MOSFET rdson.

We have explored this option. The challenge is the Vds diagnose will not work during start-up as usual. The controller does not respond for over current faults during startup.

what is the application use case and load ? Do you need Q100 device ?

The application is cECU of auto ADAS. And LM5060-Q1 is used as input inrush protection and overcurrent protection. And we need the Q100 device.

Do you mean the feature will not work in 7.4.1 Power-Up Sequence in datasheet?

Yes. Protection won't work during power-up sequence.

For better accuracy, you can add INA device in series similar to Figure 13 in https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slvaes2/slvaes2.pdf
