I work with BQ24296M chip.
The chip gets power from buck regulator(5.2V).
The power supply to the buck regulator(and to the all circuit) is from 6V to 24V.
There is a problem of not charging the battery in the next scenario:
Connect only the battery to the circuit. The circuit is powered up and we set REG7[5]. The chip enters to shipping mode. Now we connect the power supply to the circuit - no charging!!!! and according to REG8 status - the same indication.
Although the reason the BQ24296M outputs good voltage to the levels after it - it doesn't charge the battery.
The problem is caused only if the input voltage to the buck regulator is below 7V(but in this case the BQ24296M still gets 5.2V).
