TPS7A4501-SP: Radiation report(s) applicability to -RHA device designation

Part Number: TPS7A4501-SP

TI has neutron and single event effects test reports for the TPS7A4501-SP (5962R1222402VXC).  Are the representative of the 5962R1222403VXC (TPS7A4501-RHA)?  I.E., what are the differences between the -SP and the -RHA device types?  Can programs use the test reports - which call out the -SP device - for -RHA devices?

  • Robert. I should be able to clear this up for you.

For starters, the device TPS7A4501-SP is a generic name, and does not represent any orderable part number.   Same is true for the -RHA.

The differences between the variants 5962R122402VHA and the 5962R122403VXC: (note, you have ...02VXC, that is not a valid device)

The 02 and 03 devices have different package options, and specifications.

ONLY the 03 device is RHA (denoted by the R after the 5962), and is available in 2 packages:

die form (KGD), and the VXC (10 pin CFP (HKU).

The 02 devices come in 2 packages.   Die form, and CFP (U), packages.   The 02 devices are not RLAT RHA tested.   They are same design as the 03 devices, but without the additional lot accepts for group E (along with some electrical specification changes).

All the RLAT group E testing will be performed on the 5962R122403VXC device type.  The die form  RHA device 5962R122403V9A will be from the same wafer lot as the group E.  This is not necessarily true for the 02 device variants.
