LM5104: Regarding high frequency support

Part Number: LM5104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5106, LM5105

Dear TI team,

Good morning.

Do LM5104 and LM5106 support high frequency of 2 Mega Hz ?

kindly reply.

Thank you,

Caliber

  • Hello Caliber,

They both can do 2MHz, but make sure the dead-time is set to the minimum. Also, you will likely need it in the DPR (WSON) package for the better thermal performance. I believe LM5106 would work better because it does not have a minimum dead-time like the LM5104, and having an external bootstrap will let you use a fast-recovery/Schottky diode which will perform well at high frequencies. If you want something like the LM5106 with an internal diode, LM5105 may work for you also. Lastly, the SM74104 is extremely similar to the LM5104 if that helps supply-wise.

    thanks,

    Alex M.
