TPS548A20: TPS548A20

Part Number: TPS548A20

Hi,

On the page #6 of TPS548A20 data sheet, i saw "PGOOD in from higher", "Delay for PGOOD going in",

can you tell me what "PGOOD in" and "Delay for PGOOD going in" means?

Thanks,

Tony

"PGOOD in" means that the converter is operating and the output voltage is within the PGOOD operating window (Power is Good, PGOOD is not pulled low)

"PGOOD in from higher" describes the test condition for sensing threshold for the PGOOD when when the output voltage is greater than the PGOOD window (PGOOD actively pulled low) and is dropping into the PGOOD window.

These is a test condition for the specification of the PGOOD comparators because the PGOOD comparators have hysteresis.  Because of the hysteresis, the comparators have different thresholds when the output voltage is within the PGOOD window versus when the Output Voltage is outside the PGOOD window.

In from Higher / Out to Higher are the thresholds of the upper bound comparator for the PGOOD window.

Out to Higher is the Rising threshold on this comparator

In from Higher is the Falling threshold on this comparator

In from Lower / Out to Lower are the thresholds of the lower bound comparator for the PGOOD window.

Out to Lower is the Falling threshold on this comparator

In from Lower is the Rising threshold on this comparator

  • Hi Peter,

      thanks, this solved my question.
