SYNC-BUCK-FET-LOSS-CALC: How to add alternative MOSFETs

Part Number: SYNC-BUCK-FET-LOSS-CALC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD19502Q5B

Please advise how to add alternative MOSFET devices (would like to add the CSD19502Q5B for instance - it does not appear in the drop-down menu)

I only see about 20 available in the drop-down menu

Is it possible to manually add devices?

  • Hi Steve,

Thanks for the inquiry. The CSD19502Q5B is included in the sync buck tool database. It may not be showing up in the drop down because of your operating conditions. None of the 80V and 100V FETs will be included if the gate drive voltage, VGS < 6V as they all have on resistance specified at a minimum VGS = 6V in their datasheets. Also, the 80V FETs will only be in the drop down if 36V ≤ VIN ≤ 66V. The database includes all of the discrete and power block N-channel FETs in "power" packages that can be used in a synchronous buck converter. Currently, there is no way to manually add FETs. Feel free to contact me via regular email if you need further assistance.

    Thanks,
