Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24610, , TPS54060
Hi All,
We found a BQ24610 EVM document that can support more than 6 cell as below.
bq24610EVM-603 7-Cell, Li-Ion Battery Charger.pdf
And I have 2 questions that need your help to confirm.
1. Why the power path function is not used in this application?
I think the Vbat is too high(33.6V) that over the spec of the BQ24610 BATDRV pin.
Because the voltage between system(VACN) and BATDRV is 4.2V~7V.
if the VBAT is too high then the BATDRV could not support it, am I right?
2. We found a 1N4148 from TPS54060 output to the VBAT.
May I know why we use extra path (8.8V) to supply the VBAT?
Is more like a pre-charge function or does some battery require the minimum voltage?
I'm looking forward to your reply.
Thank you.
