TPS560200: TPS560200DBV EN pin application

Hi,

My customer used the TPS560200DBV to step down the input voltage of 12V~14V to 3.3V and supply it to MCU.
As you can see in the schematic, for the EN pin customer has designed a reference voltage of MMR1+MMR2; Is the use of this pin correct?

Hi, Rock !

The use of this pin is correct. But it suggests parallel a zener diode in the MMR2. Because the absolute maximum voltage of pin EN is 7V.

1. Is that correct to let pin EN be floating ? i.e.: Cancel MMR1 and MMR2. Is there any risk?

2. And what happen will be if only cancel MMR2? i.e.:Let EN pin link to VCCP (12V to 14V) through a 200K ohms resistance. We have successful 200K quantity case in these years. Unfortunately, we made new 4 samples but burned out 2 pcs TPS560200DBV in last week. Is there any different in TPS560200DBV between 200K quantity in years and last week ones?
