TPS61170: The IC makes noise when connected to a changing load.

Part Number: TPS61170

Hi,

As mentioned in the title, tps61170 will generate noise when connected to a varying load, regardless of light load or heavy load. What is the usual reason for this? Could anyone please help me to review the schematic?
  • Hi Hailiang,

What is the varying frequency of the varying load? If the frequency is 20Hz-20kHz, it will within the range of human ear discrimination and hear noise.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Eric,

The load is actually a communication circuit. The frequency of communication is 1k-4kHz. This is indeed a key consideration, but how to solve this problem or prove that there is no problem with the performance of the device?

I will send you the schematic and other information via email, please help analyze and review it.

    Thanks and best regards!

  • Hi Hailiang,

I can help review the boost design to check if there is any problem or concern. But I think the 1-4KHz communication circuit load will actively generate audible noise and effect the system. And if load is small, TPS61170 will decrease frequency to improve efficiency.

    Best Regards,
