LMZ13610: Bandwidth to decide output ripple

Part Number: LMZ13610

Hello,

I am using LMZ13610TZ/NOPB in my design. I would like to know what is the output voltage ripple of the IC. Table 6.5 in the datasheet states that Output voltage ripple =24mVpp for BW=20MHz. Is there any way to calculate BW for my design.

My Vin=24V

Vout=5V

Iout= 8A

Thanks.

  • Hi,

    I would suggest using the WEBENCH designer tool to help simulate the bode plot and steady state operation of this device in your application.

    Bode plot can show you the simulated crossover frequency which is your system's loop BW.

    Steady state can show you the simulated output ripple of the schematic design.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the response.

    1. I would also like to know when does the soft start time gets enabled. I am enabling LMZ13610 using a 5V regulator. which is the 1st regulator in sequence and LMZ13610 is 2nd. Since the VIH of LMZ13610 is 1.274 whether soft start timer start as soon as EN VIH=1.274.

    2. Whether the soft start waits till En=5V and then starts the soft start timer.

  • Hi,

    You can refer to Figure 45 to see the timing between enable and the soft-start ramp of 3.3Vout.

    From the image below, it looks about 1 division so roughly 5ms from enable high to when output voltage ramps.
