TPS61020: Applying a voltage of 5V to the "VOUT pin" and "FB pin" when the EN pin is "L"

Hi support team,

Is it possible to apply a voltage of 5V to the "VOUT pin" and "FB pin" when the EN pin is "L"?

Taking Figure 13 as an example, a wraparound voltage of 5V is applied to Vcc.
The battery drives the TPS61020.
I don't want to put a diode in the VOUT because I want the battery to last longer.

May I know what is your configuration in detail? So you mean you have another power at VCC when TPS61020 is disabled? If so, what is your output voltage setting at TPS61020 when EN=H?

Hi Dice,

Let me check this on bench and get back to you next week. Please note if you want TPS61020 to supply load when EN=1 you need to set output voltage of TPS61020 a little bit higher than 5V to make OR-ing diode block. Happy Christmas!

Hi Dice,

I checked TPS61020EVM. TPS61020 works in PSM. When there is a 5V on VOUT, whether EN=H or L, there is no reverse current from TPS61020's VOUT to its input side. If 5V bias drops and EN=H, TPS61020 takes over power to supply load.
