BQ2970: Cannot work normally after overdischarge protection

Part Number: BQ2970

Hi team,

here's an issue may need your help:

The BQ2970 needs to be shorted V- and VSS to activate the chip for the first time, and then it does not need to be activated again as long as the battery remains on. The circuit is shown in the figure, TP19 and TP20 are connected to a lithium battery.

During test, it's found that the DOUT pin could not be switched low to high when the sample machine was recharged after a long discharge with a battery voltage less than Vuvp2.8v into overdischarge protection, and charging could not activate the chip. It is still needed to manually short V- and VSS before the chip can continue to function? If so, it's not as same as the description in manual.

Could you help resolve this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
