LM117QML-SP: 5962R9951707VZA vs 5962R9951705VZA

Part Number: LM117QML-SP

Hi Experts,

I am checking the difference of the 2 devices below:
5962R9951707VZA - Texas instruments
5962R9951705VZA - National semiconductor

It seems that they are the same device. Can you also confirm that they are the same?
If not, it would be very helpful if you can inform me about their differences.
My main concern was, I am looking for the replacement of 5962R9951705VZA.
I also try using BOM & cross reference tool but there is no direct replacement for this part that was stated.
I hope you can help me with this. Thank you so much

Kind regards,
Gerald

  • Gerald,

The technical owner that supports this device is out of the office until Jan 10th.   However, I should be able to research this further and get a conclusive answer early next week.

    Wade

  • Hello Gerald,

The two products are the same except that the ceramic material and thermal properties of the package are different.

5962R9951705VZA used an AlN ceramic material that is no longer available.  The 5962R9951707VZA uses a more standard AlO ceramic which is used on most of TI's space grade products.

There is a difference in the thermal properties of the ceramics.  This can be seen in the TI datasheet or the SMD.

Let me know if you have any additional questions,
