BQ25570: Output voltage trips if there is a load applied

Part Number: BQ25570

Hi

I am applying 1.70V at VIN,

And I have a resistive load at VOUT = 3V, (load current = 50mA)

My output waveform (VOUT) shows this kind of behaviour when there is a load,

Vout_En is connected to VSTOR

What may be the cause of voltage trip?

  • Hi Ali,

If you don't have a battery connected at VBAT, then your input power (1.7V * ?? mA) must be consistently slightly higher (to account for losses that you can estimate from the d/s efficiency curves) than your output power (3.0V *0.05A=150mW).  If not, then VSTOR collapses and so will VOUT.  VSTOR must remain higher than 1.9V or the boost converter returns to cold start mode and will not be able to deliver the output power.

    Regards,

    Jeff
