LM5140-Q1: LM5140Q-1 200V Vin

Part Number: LM5140-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5143-Q1,

Hello TI,

Can be used LM5140Q1 IC when Vin is overlimit using by external gate driver and external startup supply?

Best Regards,

  • Hello,

What is the Vin range, Vout, Iout and Fsw for this application?

External gate drivers are possible, but the benefits of adaptive deadtime control are likely lost as SW is tied to GND.

    Regards,

    Tim

  • Hello Mr. Hegarty

Vin range is 50V to 125V, Vout is 15V, Iout 10A(interleaved), Fsw is 440kHz. Vin is 200V when system is abnormal for 2 seconds.
I think, external analog dead time circuit can be used to get deadtime control back.

Is "Vin" a parameter for control structure in IC? If I don't connect Vin to anywhere, does IC work functionally?

    Best Regards

  • I recommend using the LM5143-Q1 as the LM5140-Q1 has a max Vout spec of 15V (related to the current sense amp common-mode range).

Vin is not required for the control architecture, so that should be fine to connect to connect to a lower / constant voltage if needed.

    Regards,

    Tim
