TI engineer：

I want to choose an IC or solution that is suitable for current-limiting adapters(example:16.8V 6A)，Current-limiting power adapter(16.8v for 4s cell) charging，the power supply is directly connected to the battery, charging to a certain voltage is to adjust the charging current。

I tried the BQ24600, but the efficiency is not too high and the heat is serious, and there is a voltage difference between the input and the output to work normally. It feels unsuitable

I found bq2057, it feels the function is suitable, but unfortunately it does not support 4 strings of batteries ，Then I thought of using constant current IC LM3409，I don't know if it supports 100 duty cycle and whether it can achieve the function I need.

Is there a suitable solution or IC？

Hi Li,

Try BQ25730. A host processor with I2C is required to control the BQ25730.

Can you please clarify your request? Why do you want to achieve 100 duty cycle and short the battery to the input?

Yes, because the system current is relatively large, the adapter is directly connected to the battery during early charging to reduce heat loss. Just reduce the charging current at the end of the charge, I think this application needs a switch mode current source to achieve，

Thanks, I will check the details for this application, I think it needs a switch mode current source type that can be solved, the input and output are directly connected, similar to the function of the BQ2057
