TPS2597: Temperature derating

The data about the temperature raising of the device, and its safe range of output capacitor is missing during start-up. using the Excel tool (slvrbj2.zip file) shows that on most condition above 34degs the chip in not on 'successful startup'.

looking further, it seems that the Excel has bug. On Cell C7, TAB TSD. the formula there failing any start up above 34.01deg:

IF(AND(F6<34.01,E6<146.01),"YES",IF(AND(F6<36,E6<160),"MARGINAL",IF(OR(F6>=36,E6>=160),"NO","Unable to decide")))

My guess that this is bug, the number should be 134.01 (or something like that)

Hi Matan,

Thanks for reaching out. This device also has relative thermal shutdown feature which compares temp of (fet die - controller die) to 34C threshold . During startup of device we also look for relative TSD so if fet die- controller die crosses 34C we would consider thermal shutdown.

Can you share your requirements or filled excel calculator as per your application?

Here is an example.
I have took the original Excel file, but only changed the ambient temperature from 25 to 35deg. (cell D30) and as seen the 'Glitch free' cell is NO now. which seems very strange

Hi Matan,

There was a slight issue with equation, brackets were missing so logic was changing. Please use this correct file. Let me know if any further concern.
