BQ27542-G1: Power consumption is higher than sleep mode when UV condition (2.2V~2.8V)

Hello Sir:

We are testing BQ27542-G1, but we found that power consumption was higher than sleep mode when UV condition (2.2V~2.8V).

We just used a power supply to be a source for BQ27542-G1, then decreased the VCC voltage from 3.8V to 2.8V, BAT POS has no load.

We measured the power consumption was around 70uA from 3.8V to 2.9V, and around 110uA when voltage was under 2.8V.

Please refer our gg file, tested resulted figure and schematic as below.

Would you please help to provide recommendations for us and let us know how to fix this issue?

Hello Statham,

Is this the current measurement into REGIN? Make sure it's only the gauge's current consumption.

It looks like the gauge may enter normal mode briefly, was the gauge in sleep mode for the entire test?

Yes, that is measured from REGIN.

Yes, there has no other load at pack side and no current flow RS.

Hello Statham,

Do you know what operational mode the gauge was in for each voltage region? Check the Device Power Modes section in the TRM.

I believe they may be transitioning between some of the modes, or during some of their readings the gauge was active to take it's measurements every 20s in sleep. The current values specified in the DS are averaged.
