BQ24072: Can I replace BQ24074 with BQ24072?

Hi,

The customer is using BQ24074.

Due to the delivery date problem, I would like to change to BQ24072.

There is a difference in the pin 15 functions of the two products, but we believe that they can be replaced.

Please review if there is any problem when using the change from BQ24074 schematic to BQ24072.

    Hi,

    Yes the BQ24074 can be replaced with the  BQ24072. Do note that the OUT voltage regulation will be different (Battery tracking instead of fixed 4.4V) and the termination current is not configurable on the BQ24072 (will be 10% of ICHG). Instead of the ITERM pin, there will be a Termination Disable (TD) pin which when pulled low will enable charger termination; if pulled high it disables termination.

    I see no issues with the schematic so there should be no problems switching the ICs.
