TLV62130: issue

Part Number: TLV62130

Hi team,

My customer use 4pcs TLV62130 in their project, below is the schematic.

As shown in below figure, when the TLV62130(12V to 3.3V) is turn on, it appears that 12V power is being affected, causing the 1.8V to have an overshoot at this time.

The EN pin of TLV62130(12V to 3.3V) is connected to the PG pin of TLV62130(12V to 1.8V).

Could you help review and give some comments?

Thank you!

Regards,

Ivy

  • Hi Ivy,

I could not see any obvious errors on schematic. And could not understand why 1.8V and 3.3V have a overshoot. Here are my recommendations.

    1. Measure the waveform during Vin dip and 1.8V/3.3V overshoot area and zoom in if needed.

1.8V converter: probe Vin/Vout/SW together. 3.3V converter: probe Vin/Vout/SW together.

    2.  What is output current for 1.2V during start up? Schematic doesn't show that. The current limit is reduced to typ. 1.6A during soft start.

    3. Please remove R155(10k) for 3.3V PG pull up, so the 1.2V won't turn on to see if this was caused by 1.2V rail.

    4. Could you double check if the 1.2V soft start cap(C135) value is correct and soldering properly?

Could you please change C135 to 6.8nF or larger to see if it improves.

    5. Could you increase input caps for each rails from 10uF to 22uF or 47uF if there is no other bulk caps on 12V input.

    6. Please share the PCB layout to my email nancy_zhang@ti.com. we can debug this offline if needed.

    Hope these help,

    Thanks,

    Nancy
