UCC21225A: The electrical clearence of UCC21225A

Hi,

According to Datasheet of UCC21225A, the internal functional isolation between the two secondary side drivers allows working voltage up to 700-VDC.

And the distance of the two secondary side is 1mm,the figure is shwon below. But this spacing cannot meet the distance requirements of IEC standard.

How to explain and deal with it?

Sorry for the delay in responding.

The maximum voltage capability is really limited by the customer's rules and processes. For example, if the customer uses conformal coating, the voltage rating can improve as dirt and other contaminates can be eliminated from causing voltage breakdown. You'll also notice the wording in the datasheet refers to the internal spacing, not the external spacing.

If you customer requires higher voltage, I suggest you look at UCC21540 or UCC21530. You can also utilize this FAQ to help you find the best driver for your application:
